Back in November Roland Vontessin asked me if I'd be up for a trip to New York to shoot a music vid for a band called TEEN from Brooklyn. I hadn't heard of the band before but after a little research I discovered they were a psychedelic R&B band built around the Lieberson sisters (psychedelic R&B? Sounds like a party!) and having always enjoyed working with Roland who is a complete After Effects Wizard and genuine Artist, I didn't hesitate to sign up.
Roland had this Idea of filming the band performing in a green screen studio wearing these super earthly-futuristic BERENIK prototype dresses and then in post-production add these tribal-futuristic headpieces made up out of high-res insect pictures (Say what?).
So we set out to find a good studio in the Brooklyn area and came across Windmill Studios who offer pre-lit Studios at a decent price and work tightly together with Elefant Films Rental house. This came in super-handy because Elefant delivers all the requested lighting equipment directly to the studio without us having to deal with renting a truck to transport the whole gear.
We had the pleasure of working with Jules Thompson (AD), Susanna Locascio (Script Supervisor) and my good friend Peter Bartholik (Lighting Technician) who happened to be in town at the time. Not to mention Teeny, Lizzie, Katherine and Boshra of TEEN who put a lot of effort into the project, believed in Roland's vision and showed us an awesome time.
